Action: Light Up

Since February 2010, Actioneers have been working with an impoverished rural school in Bogura, with the goal of providing a proper educational environment to the students. Our works have involved arranging quiz competitions, science classes, teachers’ training workshops and many more. A library with over 300 donated books was set up. To promote leadership amongst the students, we emphasized on their public speaking skills and the importance of reading books. In addition to these obvious necessities, we raised awareness issues through our services which also had blends of fun and creativity. There were art and spelling bee competitions along with tree plantation act and health discussions.

For the students of this Dhunot Thana village – which has no electricity connection – it was a sheer amazement when we showed movies and many educational clips using a projector. Our seamless ministrations for the past few months are the reasons the children are now smarter and more ambitious. We look forward to assist this school intensively in future and we have set long term goals with it.
